Hello everyone! Welcome to my first blog post! I’ve been having some strange dreams lately. First of all, my dreams either never make sense because they are so weird, or I have horrible dreams that wake me up crying. I NEVER have normal, happy, riding on a dolphin dreams.
Last night I dreamt that the Zoo’s animals had all gotten loose! I was in a long hallway with several closed doors on either side. A black and green poisonous snake was slithering towards me. Somehow in the dream I knew that it was the kind of snake that would kill you in seconds with one bite. I am backing up slowly trying not to startle this snake when my cat, Hugo jumps out of one of the doors. The snake turns around and slides itself around my cats neck squeezing tighter and tighter. Hugo’s eyes start to bulge out of his sockets, his body gets fatter and fatter from all of the pressure and he finally explodes into a million pieces.
All of a sudden, the dream skips and I am lying in a cage with a baby lion cub, petting it as if it’s a kitten. The cub is being so sweet and purring and enjoying the rub down. Before I know it, the mother lion saunters over and growls at me, licking her lips as if she can’t wait to devour me. The lion calmly and slowly bites my index finger. Her tooth is caught in my finger and slices all the way through. I cannot get my finger out of her mouth so I yank back really fast and my finger is split in two.
I woke up thinking; ‘My poor cat!’ and ‘What the fuck?’ I wonder why my dreams have been so strange lately. Not that they aren’t always strange, but this is a different kind of strange. Here’s an example about my ‘usual’ strange dreams.
I once dreamt that I was in a haunted house, except that it wasn’t a haunted house, just designed like one. Curtains from floor to ceiling, spooky skulls hung everywhere, props, etc. I heard Enrique’s song ‘Baby, I Like It’ and I ran to the other end of the house. He was performing live and I couldn’t get there fast enough. I was running in ultra slow-motion and trying to scream but no words came out of my mouth. By the time I made it to the stage, he was leaving and the concert was over. The dream skipped and we were in a room and he was kissing my stomach. All of a sudden, he pulls down my skirt and says; ‘Ew, why are you wearing granny panties?’ I then proceeded to wake up. Dreams like that are ‘normal’ for me. But dreams about my cat exploding and lions splitting my finger in half is a bit kooky, even for me! I looked up a website called Dream Dictionary and looked up key words to find out what my dreams could possibly mean. It’s a very interesting website, I recommend you check it out once you dream.
